Nick Benseman is an Actor, Director (DGA), Stunt & Fight Coordinator with a long and successful career in the industry. Since the age of five, he has studies 9 different styles of martial arts. His favorite being Bruce Lee’s, “Jeet Kune Do” which he used to teach while also attending film school and studying at The Stella Adler Academy of Acting. After college he studied, trained and was one of the main pre-vis artist for 87 Elven for several years.
He has become a bit of a ghost writer for action, a fight choreographer and action designer for many sequences you’re familiar with. Although not always credited he has been creating on and off screen for such projects as Captain American: Winter Solider, Creed 2, The Hunt and Jungle Cruise. He has been a Fight Coordinator, choreographer, designer and/or created pre-vis for such films as Tenet, Red Notice, Spider-Man: No Way Home and the new series, STAR WARS: Skeleton Crew.
All the while working closely with each director, helping them achieve their vision and a new and unique style of action in each project. A list of Hollywood’s talent he has trained over the years includes: Jason Statham, John David Washington, Willem Dafoe, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Kenneth Branagh, Allison Janney, and many more. Even teaching Jason Momoa how to twirl dual swords. Not only is he a specialist in fights but all action spanning from driving, rigging, high falls and water stunts. Some of his previous mentors are David Leitch, Jon Epstein and Bob Brown.
There is no style of action nor any variety of project he cannot not tackle as he is familiar with any and every medium the industry has to offer. He exceptionally knowledgeable in just about all areas of film from acting, camera, composition, lighting, sound design, writing, editing and more. He isn’t even a stranger to live audience as he is a regular performer at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. He’s more than just a Stunt Expert, he’s a filmmaker, a performer and story teller.
